2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" Palmieri, Jr., who passed |
4 | | away on January 27, 2016 at the age of 81; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. was born in Kingston, |
6 | | Tennessee to Anthony and Bonnie (nee White) Palmieri; his |
7 | | family moved to Highwood and then to Libertyville, where he |
8 | | finished high school; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. began his career as a |
10 | | bricklayer at the age of 17, working for his Uncle Homer; after |
11 | | 17 years, he took a job with JAC Masonry, where he remained |
12 | | until his retirement; during that time, he supervised the |
13 | | masonry construction of numerous buildings in Lake and McHenry |
14 | | Counties; he was a 64-year member of Brick and Stone Masons |
15 | | Local 20 of Lake County; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. enjoyed 19 years of |
17 | | well-deserved retirement, where his hobbies included |
18 | | woodworking, golf, and travel; he spent time in retirement at |
19 | | his homes in Park City and Florida; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Palmieri, Jr. was preceded in death by his |
21 | | wives, Dolores "Babe" (nee Weidner) and Lyla (nee Hadad); his |
