2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Effie May Beckett of Blue Mound, who |
4 | | passed away on November 16, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Effie Beckett was born on September 27, 1920 in |
6 | | Farmington, Missouri; her parents were Lemuel J. and Delia E. |
7 | | (nee Alley) Oliver; she married John H. Beckett, Jr. on August |
8 | | 15, 1942; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Effie Beckett graduated from Herculaneum High |
10 | | School in Pevely, Missouri; and |
11 | | WHEREAS, Effie Beckett was a homemaker and a housekeeper |
12 | | for Millikin University for several years; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Effie Beckett was a longtime member of Mt. Calvary |
14 | | Lutheran Church and a member of First Christian Church of |
15 | | Decatur; she was also a graduate of Bible Study Fellowship |
16 | | International and a member of the Decatur Senior Bowling |
17 | | League; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Effie Beckett was preceded in death by her |
19 | | parents; her husband, John, Jr.; her sons, John L. Beckett, |
20 | | Sr., Robert O. Beckett, and Bradley K. Beckett; and her |
|

1 | | sisters, Hazel Schanz, Joyce Dunford, and Capitola Pettigo; and

2 | | WHEREAS, Effie Beckett is survived by her children, Sally |
3 | | Beck, Tina (Duane) Noland, Tony (Deberah) Beckett, and M. Mark |
4 | | (Pamela) Beckett; her daughter-in-law, Gloria Jean Beckett; |
5 | | her grandchildren, John L. (Lynnette) Beckett, Jr., Hank |
6 | | (Donnette) Beckett, Jason Beckett, George Beck, Grant (Logan) |
7 | | Noland, Blake (Kristin) Noland, Victoria (Matthew) Shugart, |
8 | | Vanessa (Justin Esparza) Leslie, Jarod Beckett, Alex Beckett, |
9 | | and Rachel (Patrick Miller) Beckett; her great-grandchildren, |
10 | | Maggie and Laura Beckett, Emily Beckett, Hudson, Elizabeth, and |

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her |
16 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Effie May Beckett; and |
17 | | be it further

18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 | | presented to the family of Effie Beckett as an expression of |
20 | | our sympathy.
