SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Thomas Gilbert Sweeney of McHenry, who 
4passed away on November 3, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Sweeney was born in Chicago on November 8, 
61936 to Thomas G., Sr. and Mayrose (nee Kendall) Sweeney; he 
7received his Bachelor of Science in Economics and his Bachelor 
8of Arts in Philosophy from Illinois Benedictine University; he 
9married Joyce M. Von Huben in Chicago on December 23, 1956; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Thomas Sweeney was a police officer for the 
11Chicago Police Department for several years; he finished his 
12career as a Vice-President at MMI Companies; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Thomas Sweeney enjoyed boating on Powers Lake in 
14Wisconsin and was an avid golfer; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Thomas Sweeney was preceded in death by his 
16parents; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Thomas Sweeney is survived by his wife of 58 
18years, Joyce; his 3 children, Theresa Sweeney, Thomas III 
19(Debra) Sweeney, and Patrick (Tamra) Sweeney; his 2 
20grandchildren, Bret Weaver and Lilya Sweeney; his brother,

1Gregory (Donna) Sweeney; and his sister, Jacqueline (Albert)

3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Thomas Gilbert Sweeney, and extend our sincere condolences to 
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Thomas Sweeney as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
