SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Deputy Dwight Maness of McHenry, who 
4passed away on September 14, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Deputy Maness was born and raised in Chicago and 
6had been a resident of McHenry County for the last 7 years; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Deputy Maness was a  20-year United States Army 
8Veteran, serving with the 101st Airborne Division; he was  
9deployed to Desert Storm and finished his career as an Airborne 
10Ranger Instructor with the 75th Ranger Regiment; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Deputy Maness served with the McHenry County 
12Sheriff's Department for the last 7 years and 11 months; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, Deputy Maness is survived by his wife of nearly 3 
14years, Susan; his son, Nicholas; his stepchildren, Lauren 
15(Opryszek) and Joshua (Opryszek); his parents, Dwight E. and 
16Katherine; his stepmother, Pamela; his sister, Deena; his 
17brothers, Christopher, Joshua, and William; and his nieces, 
18Sydney, Kayla, Hannah, Katie (Gaffney), and Megan (Gaffney); 
19therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Deputy Dwight Maness, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to  the family of  Deputy Maness as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
