SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ann Rodenkirch Grabski of McHenry, who
4passed away on September 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ann Grabski was born on September 7, 1921 in
6Johnston City; her parents were Anthony and Anna (nee Kowalis)
7Shalton; she married Hilary Rodenkirch on October 16, 1943 at
8St. Maurice Church in Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ann Grabski was employed in food service at
10McHenry Hospital for 8 years; she also owned and operated the
11Pantry Deli on Riverside Drive for 15 years, where she worked
12with her husband; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ann Grabski served as a Girl Scout leader; she was
14also a volunteer for the Red Cross and the Salvation Army and a
15member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1348 and St. Mary's
16Catholic Church in McHenry, where she was a member of the
17Christian Mothers; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ann Grabski enjoyed spending her summers in St.
19Germain, Wisconsin and traveling around the world; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ann Grabski was preceded in death by her parents;

1her first husband, Hilary Rodenkirch; her second husband,
2Walter Grabski; and her brothers, Anthony and Chester Shalton;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ann Grabski is survived by her children, Gerald
5(Anne) Rodenkirch and Sandra (Elmer) Gorham; her
6grandchildren, Debra (Patrick) Burns, Dawn (the late Mark)
7McMichael, James (Sonja) Gorham, Laura (Ken Klean) Schultz, and
8Brian (Sabina) Rodenkirch; and her great-grandchildren,
9Shannon, Louis, Zachary, Rachael, Camryn, and Caleb;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Ann Rodenkirch
14Grabski; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Ann Grabski as an expression of our
17sympathy.
