2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Rene A. Dinneweth of Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 9, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rene Dinneweth was born in Rock Island on November | ||||||
6 | 8, 1945 to Robert V. and Mary Veryzer Dinneweth; he graduated | ||||||
7 | from United Township High School in 1963 and served in the | ||||||
8 | United States Army during the Vietnam War; he used his GI | ||||||
9 | benefits to further his education at Black Hawk College; he | ||||||
10 | married Judith Fry in the summer of 1966; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Rene Dinneweth worked at American Air Filter (AAF) | ||||||
12 | until it closed in 1985; he was elected as a business | ||||||
13 | representative for District 102 and later District 6 of the | ||||||
14 | International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers | ||||||
15 | (IAMAW) AFL-CIO; he had recently received his 50-year | ||||||
16 | membership pin; during his time with the union, he served as | ||||||
17 | first Vice-President for the Illinois State Council and as | ||||||
18 | delegate for the Quad City Federation of Labor; he received a | ||||||
19 | degree in labor studies and continued his education throughout | ||||||
20 | his career; he served as a union steward, grievance | ||||||
21 | committeeman, and Chairman of the negotiating committee at AAF; | ||||||
22 | he was also Vice-President and President of IAMAW 2045, | ||||||
23 | District 102 Delegate, Illinois and Iowa State Council of |

1 | Machinists Delegate, and former IAMAW National Convention | ||||||
2 | Delegate; he retired in 2012; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Rene Dinneweth was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears | ||||||
4 | fan; he was a proud veteran and union member; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rene Dinneweth was preceded in death by his | ||||||
6 | parents; his parents-in-law; his nephews, David Carter and | ||||||
7 | Brian Dinneweth; and several beloved aunts and uncles; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Rene Dinneweth is survived by his wife Judy; his | ||||||
9 | children, Mark (Tara) Dinneweth and Marci R. Dinneweth; his | ||||||
10 | grandchildren, Malia, Kilee, Taylor and Cade Dinneweth, and | ||||||
11 | Devin and Bryce Rasche; his great-grandchildren, Alexander and | ||||||
12 | Atticus Henricksen; his sister, Diane (Richard) Carter; his | ||||||
13 | brother, Robert (Louise) Dinneweth; his brother-in-law, Dr. | ||||||
14 | Norman (Jeannette) Fry; his nephews, Dan (Vien) Carter, Brooks | ||||||
15 | Fry, Brandon Fry, and Dustin Fry; and his niece, Mauli Fry; | ||||||
16 | therefore, be it

17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
19 | Rene A. Dinneweth, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
20 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
21 | further
