SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald L. Cordano of Joliet, who passed
4away on September 7, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Cordano was born on August 5, 1934 to
6Louise (nee Brusatte) and Joseph Cordano; he married Suellen
7Brehn on August 29, 1959; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Donald Cordano was the founder and President of
9Donald L. Cordano and Associates and Professor Emeritus at
10Lewis University; he served as board member and Treasurer of
11the Joliet Area Community Hospice, Our Lady of Angels
12Retirement Home, the Will Grundy Center for Independent Living,
13and the Rialto Foundation; he held positions of leadership in
14many professional associations; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Donald Cordano lead a small dance band for over 25
16years; he was also a lifetime member of the Joliet Elks, the
17Loyal Order of Moose, the Knights of Columbus, and The Old
18Timers Baseball Association; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Donald Cordano was preceded in death by his
20parents; his infant brother, LaVerne Cordano; his
21mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dolores (nee Morrison) and

1Raymond Brehn; his brother-in-law, Bob (Mickey) Brehn; and his
2sister-in-law, Mary Lou Briscoe; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Donald Cordano is survived by his wife, Suellen;
4his children, Marisue (Dr. Alexander) Grabavoy and James
5(Stephani) Cordano; his grandchildren, Christiana Grabavoy
6(Stephen Hertzog), Natalya Grabavoy, and Mia and Griffin
7Cordano; his brother-in-law, Jim Briscoe; and several nieces
8and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Donald L. Cordano, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Donald Cordano as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
