SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Darwin "Buz" Kershaw of Colona, who
4passed away on August 24, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw was born in Colona on May 12, 1932
6to Clyde and Berniece A. Crouch Kershaw; he married Joanne
7Voorhis in Colona in 1951; he served in the United States Army
8from 1953 to 1955; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw was a life-long farmer; he, along
10with his mother and brother, Darrell, owned the Kershaw Mobile
11Home Park in Colona; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw married Barbara Bender in 1990 in
13Bradenton, Florida; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw was a long-time member of Green
15Rock Colona American Legion Post 1233; he enjoyed golf,
16bowling, and flying his plane in his earlier years; he enjoyed
17getting on his motorcycle and riding to his friend, Jim
18Mortier's to repair farm equipment; he also enjoyed watching
19the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, NASCAR, and times with his
20grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw was preceded in death by his
2parents; his first wife, Joanne; his brother, Darrell Kershaw;
3and his sister, Donna Michels; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw is survived by his wife, Barb; his
5daughter, Brenda (Armando) Veloz; his sons, David (Grace)
6Kershaw, Dale (Jackie) Kershaw, and Duane (Diane) Kershaw; his
7stepsons, Bill (Mary Ann) Bender, John (Angel) Bender, and Tom
8(Brenda) Bender; his daughter, Becky; several grandchildren
9and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Meier;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Darwin "Buz" Kershaw, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Darwin Kershaw as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
