SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James B. Maxwell of Pittsfield, who
4passed away on July 7, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Maxwell was born in Fullerton, California on
6November 11, 1936 to Violet Ellen Weatherwax Maxwell and James
7Grenon Maxwell; he graduated from Fullerton High School in
81956, where he was a standout athlete and captain of the
9varsity football team his senior year; he received his Bachelor
10of Science from Arizona State University in 1960, where he was
11a proud member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity; he married Wilma
12Faye Silvernail in Phoenix, Arizona on April 9, 1960, and they
13moved to Riverton, California; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Maxwell and his family left California and
15settled outside of Manito on their farm; he began farming and
16teaching at Wilson Elementary School in Pekin; he farmed, drove
17the Forman school bus, and taught social studies at Forman
18Junior High School; he was a highly respected and awarded
19Country Companies Insurance and Financial Agent and Manager
20until his retirement in 1996; he also served the Forest City
21Community Church as a member and board director; and
 
22    WHEREAS, James Maxwell and his wife enjoyed living in both

1Illinois and Florida during their retirement; he enjoyed
2dancing, golf, spending time with family and friends, a good
3dinner and conversation, and "Jim-Lit" to wash it down; and
 
4    WHEREAS, James Maxwell was preceded in death by his
5parents; his wife of 47 years, Wilma; and his sister,
6Elizabeth; and
 
7    WHEREAS, James Maxwell is survived by his daughter, Janine
8Maxwell; his son, Jeffrey (Becky) Maxwell; his grandson, Adam
9Maxwell; his granddaughter, Anna Grace Maxwell; his
10brother-in-law, Michael (Mary) Silvernail; his brother-in-law,
11Jim (Betty) Stacy; his 2 nieces, Melissa Johnson and Gladys
12Farnam; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16James B. Maxwell, and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of James Maxwell as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
