SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paul Craig of Perry, who passed away on
4July 11, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Craig was born in Danville on December 13,
61960 to James and Marlene Calhoun Craig; he graduated from
7Griggsville High School in 1979 and married Mary Ellen Suhling
8on November 24, 1979 in Mount Sterling; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Paul Craig was a past employee of National Starch
10for 21 years in Meredosia and was very involved with
11Boilermakers Union Local 484; he later worked for the
12Jacksonville Developmental Center until the center closed; he
13then was employed by the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy; he
14was a 34-year member of the North Pike Fire Department, where
15he had been Fire Chief since 1994; he was an instructor with
16the Illinois Fire Service Institute for many years; he was
17Mutual Aid Box Alarm System's current President for Division 67
18and past President of Twin Pike Mutual Aid Association; he was
19also the Western Illinois sales rep for the Illinois Fire
20Store; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Paul Craig was a member of the Perry Masonic Lodge
22Ancient Free and Accepted Masons for many years and Pittsfield

1OES Chapter 195; he was heavily involved with youth sports in
2Pike County and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Paul Craig is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen;
4his daughter, Kimber Martin (Michael "Bub"); his 2 sons, Kellen
5Craig and Kollin Craig (Brittany); his 3 grandchildren, Hattie
6and Ike Martin and Finley Craig; his 3 sisters, Alicia Dunham
7(Scott), Anna Emrick (John), and Jennifer Craig Blakley; his 2
8brothers, Jay Craig (Janna) and Steve Craig (Leann); and
9several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Paul Craig, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Paul Craig as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
