SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Coleman R. "Doc" Moore, who passed away
4on May 15, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Coleman Moore was born in Port Gibson, Mississippi
6on September 14, 1922 to Adeline L. Wheeler Moore and Coleman
7H. Moore; he attended the Port Gibson public school system and
8graduated from Lumpkin's Barber College; he served for 2 years
9in the United States Army during World War II; he married Hazel
10D. Shelton in 1947; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Coleman Moore moved to North Chicago in 1952 and
12was employed at American Motors in Kenosha, Wisconsin for 31
13years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Coleman Moore was a mechanic and could be found
15working on cars and trucks for all his family and friends; his
16other activities included joining the CB Club where he adopted
17the name of "8 Ball"; he was also a volunteer of the Lake Shore
18Alert and the North Chicago Emergency Service teams; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Coleman Moore was preceded in death by his wife,
20Hazel; his parents; his 3 brothers, Sam Brown, Elder Green
21Wheeler Moore, and Abraham Jessie Moore; his 5 sisters, Ethel

1Scott, Rebecca Parker, Myrtle Perkins, Julia Sipp, and
2Geraldine Turner; and his son-in-law, Artis Yancey; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Coleman Moore is survived by his sister, Barbara
4Emory; his 3 sons, Dennis (Margaret) Moore, James "Tony" Moore,
5and William Franks; his 7 daughters, Carolyn Moore, Rhonda
6Moore, Audrey Moore Israel, Melissa (Harry) Gooden, Shelia
7France, Dorothy (Joel) Murphy, and Tamara Yancey; his 30
8grandchildren; his 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of
9nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Coleman R. "Doc" Moore, and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Coleman Moore as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
