|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Thaddeus C. "Ted" Tyska, who passed away |
4 | | on May 12, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Ted Tyska was born in Chicago on August 15, 1923 |
6 | | to Francis and Harriet (nee Dobkowski) Tyska; he attended |
7 | | Catholic grade school and graduated from Wells High School, |
8 | | lettering in swimming (even swimming in the Chicago River);
he |
9 | | joined the United States Army Air Corps and became a field |
10 | | lineman in the 342nd infantry, serving in France, Austria, and |
11 | | Germany; he received a Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge |
12 | | among other ribbons and medals; he returned home and after a |
13 | | short time went back to serving his country in the Pacific |
14 | | Theater in the Phillipines; he was discharged as a Private |
15 | | First Class in March of 1946; he married Therese Mary Adamski |
16 | | on November 22, 1947 at St. Fidelis Church in Chicago; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Ted Tyska attended the University of South Dakota |
18 | | at Vermillion, studying electrical engineering; he graduated |
19 | | from DeVry Technical Institute and went on to work at the Crane |
20 | | Company in the foundry and as an electrician working to start |
21 | | the union; he became a federal employee in the General Services |
22 | | Administration elevator division where he developed the |
23 | | Fireman's Code for elevators; he was a member of the |

1 | | Electrician's Union and the Federal Employees Union; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Ted Tyska enjoyed swimming at the Chicago and |
3 | | Crystal Lake YMCA, the Holiday Inn Club One, and the Health |
4 | | Bridge; he also enjoyed dancing, cooking, and pointing out |
5 | | nature; he also enjoyed watching TV programs about politics, |
6 | | nature, science, baseball, and golf; he was a member of the |
7 | | Church of Holy Apostles and felt that family was truly |
8 | | important; he was a member of the American Legion; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Ted Tyska was preceded in death by his wife, |
10 | | Therese; his parents; his brothers, Casimer and Stan; his |
11 | | sister-in-law, Dorothy; and his brother-in-law, Richard Kelly; |
12 | | and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Ted Tyska is survived by his children, Barbara, |
14 | | Dan (Pat), Jim (Theresa), and Tom (Vanessa) Tyska; his |
15 | | brothers, Edwin (Carol), Frank (Mary), and Chet (Kathy) Tyska; |
16 | | his sister, Maryann Kelly; his sister-in-law, Peg Tyska; and |
17 | | many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, |
18 | | great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it

19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
20 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
21 | | Thaddeus C. "Ted" Tyska, and extend our sincere condolences to |
22 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
