2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Marvin Le Roy McDonald of Danville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 22, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald was born on April 1, 1936 to Harry | ||||||
6 | and Norma (nee Baker) McDonald; he graduated from Shelbyville | ||||||
7 | High School and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; he | ||||||
8 | married Mary Jo Dunavan
on December 27, 1959; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald worked in education for over 30 | ||||||
10 | years, beginning as a high school agriculture
and biology | ||||||
11 | teacher for one year; he was a
high school principal at | ||||||
12 | Chrisman Manteno
Chenoa High School; he retired from | ||||||
13 | Bismarck-Henning High School; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald was a member of Old Union Church
| ||||||
15 | of Christ, later becoming a charter member of
CrossRoads | ||||||
16 | Christian Church; he was a Master Gardener and enjoyed
planting | ||||||
17 | and being in his garden; he was
a member of the Illinois Kennel | ||||||
18 | Club, a leader
with 4-H, and a member of the Bismarck Lions | ||||||
19 | Club; he was a faithful Cardinals fan and loved the Illini, but | ||||||
20 | he was most proud of all Bismarck Henning High School events; | ||||||

1 | WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald was preceded in death by Don and

2 | Soni Dunavan; his parents; and his 2 brothers
Lyle and Marion; | ||||||

4 | WHEREAS, Marvin McDonald is survived by his wife, Mary; his
| ||||||
5 | son, Scott (Leslie) McDonald; his daughter, Karen (Marc)
| ||||||
6 | Holycross; his grandson, Jacob
Holycross; his granddaughter, | ||||||
7 | Stephanie
(Doug) Lampley; his 2 great-grandchildren, Sydney
| ||||||
8 | and Gretchen; his brother, Delmar (Jane)
McDonald; his 4 | ||||||
9 | sisters, Ilene (Lester) Whitlatch,
Irene (Clarence) Schmitz, | ||||||
10 | Mildred (Al)
Reed, and Ruby (Dick) Hamilton; his | ||||||
11 | brother-in-law, Dan (Kathy) Dunavan; and his 2 sisters-in-law, | ||||||
12 | Dorothy and Shirley McDonald; therefore, be it

13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Marvin Le Roy McDonald, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
16 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
17 | further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Marvin McDonald as an expression of | ||||||
