SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patrick M. Magosky of Joliet; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky was born on February 21, 1942 to
5Willard E., Sr. and Mary H. (nee Krakar) Magosky; he lived with
6his family in Nestor Falls, Ontario, Canada; he graduated from
7St. Raymond's and Joliet Catholic High School and Joliet Junior
8College with a degree in business; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky was very well known in Nestor
10Falls, Canada for his strong work ethic and dedication to his
11family and community; he worked on the construction of his
12parent's store and road side dock and building; he was very
13well known for his assistance and leadership as a teenager in
14building an airport and Catholic church; he would often help
15with the construction after work; he was nominated to be
16knighted but was only 19 years old and one must be 21; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky worked several years as a Cost
18Accountant at the Texaco Refining in Lockport; he then worked
19as an Inspector at G.A.F. and at Insta Foam for several years;
20the rest of his working career was at chemical companies and
21the Unoven Coking Plant in Lemont; and

1    WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky attended Governor State
2University and graduated with a bachelors degree in health care
3administration; he also earned an electrician's license, a home
4inspection license, and was a private pilot; he authored 2
5books, "The First 35 Years of Joliet History" and "Historic
6Impressions of Shorewood"; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky was preceded in death by his
8parents; his brother, Cpt. Charles J. Magosky, USMC; and his
9son, P. Seth Magosky; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Patrick Magosky is survived by his wife of 50
11years, Andrea K. Magosky; his daughter, Serena A. Magosky and
12son, Cean M. Magosky (Anne); his 3 grandchildren, Serenita,
13Karley, and Andrew; his brother, Willard E. Magosky, Jr.; his 3
14god children; his 3 brothers-in-law, Joe Rafac (Nora), Jim
15Rafac (Angie), and John Rafac; his sister-in-law, Linda Rafac;
16and a host of other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Patrick M. Magosky, and extend our sincere condolences to his
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
21further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
