2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Maurie Berman; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, In May of 1948, Maurie Berman and his wife, |
5 | | Flaurie, founded Chicago's iconic Superdawg Drive-In and |
6 | | operated it for the next 67 years; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Maurie Berman is survived by his loving wife, best |
8 | | friend, and business partner of 68 years, Flo "Flaurie" (nee |
9 | | Miska); he was the cherished father of Scott (Terry), Myles |
10 | | "Mush", and Lisa (Don) Drucker; the adoring grandfather of |
11 | | Alyssa "Lyssi" (Jordan), Laura (Ben), Max, Steffie, and Ross; |
12 | | the great-grandfather of Talia; the beloved brother of Rosa |
13 | | (Jerry) Burkman; the beloved father-in-law of Pat Garcia (Julie |
14 | | Barton); the grandfather-figure to Livi Barton; and Uncle |
15 | | Maurie to many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Maurie Berman, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
19 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
