|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Jean V. "Tootsie" Hunt-Christ of Union, |
4 | | who passed away on April 5, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Jean Hunt-Christ was born in Oconomowoc, |
6 | | Wisconsin on December 13, 1946 to Robert and Joan (nee Codman) |
7 | | Kleimenhagen; she graduated from Craig High School in 1965 and |
8 | | lived in Janesville for several years before moving to |
9 | | Rockford; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Jean Hunt-Christ worked in in-home party sales for |
11 | | Fay Swafford Luggage and Purses and Living Home Hydroponic |
12 | | Plants, exhibiting her items at the local fairs and festivals; |
13 | | she met her companion and best friend, Karl Christ, and |
14 | | together they expanded their business to food concessions, |
15 | | first with Jean's Fine Food in 1982 and also with Horizon Food |
16 | | Service, owning and operating all the food concessions for all |
17 | | of the Northern Illinois University athletic events from 1994 |
18 | | to 2006; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Jean Hunt-Christ was a member of the Union Lioness |
20 | | Club and the Hampshire Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post |
21 | | 8043; she loved to spend warm sunny days on the deck at the |
22 | | farm, playing Bingo, traveling to Las Vegas, shopping, going to |

1 | | auctions, and collecting and showing antiques at the county |
2 | | fairs; she was a fabulous cook and baker, always making her |
3 | | famous Christmas cookies to share with family and friends; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Jean Hunt-Christ was preceded in death by her |
5 | | father, Robert Kleimenhagen; her mother, Joan (Bill) Lund; and |
6 | | her special daughter, Stacy Parker; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Jean Hunt-Christ is survived by her companion of |
8 | | 34 years, Karl Christ; her daughter, Erika (Jason) Freund; her |
9 | | son, Brian (Patricia) Hunt; her grandchildren, Britny, Andrea, |
10 | | Zoe, Dylan Jo, Paxtyn, and Layne; her great-granddaughter, |
11 | | Aleksia; her sisters, Karen (Steven) Reed and Karla (Tim) |
12 | | Brikowski; her half-sister, Bobbie Jeanne (Jeremiah) Weber; |
13 | | several nieces and nephews; and her feline friends, especially |
14 | | Rollie Pollie; therefore, be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | Jean V. "Tootsie" Hunt-Christ, and extend our sincere |
18 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
19 | | her; and be it further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Jean Hunt-Christ as an expression of |
22 | | our deepest sympathy.
