SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Elizabeth A. "Betty" Davis of Woodstock,
4who passed away on March 13, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty Davis was born in DeKalb on July 31, 1923 to
6Paul C. and Alma M. (nee Baril) Gossmann; she married Jack
7Davis on February 12, 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, While living in Aurora, Betty Davis worked at
9Western Union for 15 years; after moving her family to
10Woodstock, she took a job at the Woodstock Public Library,
11where she worked for 20 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Betty Davis was a member of St. Mary Catholic
13Church in Woodstock; she enjoyed genealogy work and her time
14volunteering at Sheltered Village; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Betty Davis was preceded in death by her parents;
16her husband, Jack; her step-mother; her brother, Paul Gossmann;
17and her sister, Joanne Gossmann; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Betty Davis is survived by her 2 sons, John
19(Yvonne) Davis and Michael Davis; her daughter, Laura (John)
20Marsh; her grandchildren, A.J. (Laura) Marx, Michelle Marsh,

1Jennifer Davis, Jeff Davis, and Joe (Nicole) Davis; and her
2sister, Maryann Gossmann; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Elizabeth A. "Betty" Davis, and extend our sincere condolences
6to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
7it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Betty Davis as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
