SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  James A. Baker of Cary, who passed away 
4on November 24, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Baker was born on October 10, 1955 in Elgin; 
6his parents were James and Zoe (nee Smith) Baker; he married 
7Judith Comstock on May 28, 1977; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, James Baker graduated from Cary-Grove High School 
9in 1973 and Southern Illinois University in 1977; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, James Baker had an accomplished career in 
11television; he was the technical manager for CBS Sports, TNT, 
12the Oprah Winfrey Show, and many other networks; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, James Baker enjoyed playing guitar, fixing and 
14riding motorcycles, skiing, and spending time with his family; 
15and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, James Baker is preceded in death by his parents 
17and his mother-in-law, Marilyn Comstock; and
 
18    WHEREAS, James Baker is survived by his wife, Judy; 2 sons, 
19Will (Sarah Hunko) Baker and Sam (Ashley Schultz) Baker; a

1brother, Steve Baker; a sister, Cathy (Bill) Rybak; and many 
2extended family members and dear friends; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
5family and friends, mourn the passing of James A. Baker; and be 
6it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of James Baker as an expression of our 
9sympathy.
