SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frederick S. Carroll of Richmond, who
4passed away on December 6, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll was born on January 3, 1947 in
6Baltimore, Maryland; his parents were Miles and Mary Louise
7(nee Steil) Carroll; he married Nancy Neucks on October 18,
81982 in Evansville, Indiana; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll was a graduate of St. Paul's
10School in Baltimore in 1965; he later earned his bachelor's
11degree from American University in Washington, DC, and his
12master's degree from the American Graduate School of
13International Management in Arizona; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll served in the United States Army
15as a specialist during the Vietnam War; he was a recipient of
16the Combat Infantry Badge and was awarded multiple Purple
17Hearts; and
 
18    WHEREAS, After working as a salesman for Stryker Equipment,
19Frederick Carroll and his wife formed Merit Medical in McHenry,
20which they operated for 20 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll was a member and president of
2the Richmond-Spring Grove Area Rotary Club; he also served as
3Republican precinct captain for several years; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll enjoyed antique cars and had a
5keen interest in books, especially ones about history; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll is survived by his wife, Nancy;
7a brother, Thomas (Deb) Carroll; 2 nieces, Erin Sutton and
8Amanda McClure; a sister-in-law, Jayne (James) Thorne; 2
9nieces, Maureen (Aaron) Kauffman and Meredith (Michael)
10Fleming; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews, including
11Hadlee Sutton and Piper and Quinn McClure; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of Frederick S. Carroll;
15and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Frederick Carroll as an expression
18of our sympathy.
