SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Howard Jones, Jr. of Lake Forest, who
4passed away on March 9, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Howard Jones, Jr. was born in Oak Park on February
619, 1929 to Howard, Sr. and Margaret (Fisher); he attended
7Ascension Grade School and Fenwick High School in Oak Park and
8Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri; and
 
9    WHEREAS, In the 1950s, Howard Jones, Jr. worked in various
10jobs in Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, a locale that
11would forever be his home away from home; he married Nancy
12Keenan on September 13, 1958 in Oak Park; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Howard Jones, Jr. began his business career with
14the Insurance Company of North America (INA), and later as the
15owner/operator of his own independent agency in Deerfield, Lake
16Forest, and Forest Park; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Howard Jones, Jr. was an avid athlete and enjoyed
18tennis, basketball, baseball, football, and hockey; he coached
19numerous little league baseball and basketball teams in
20Deerfield; and

1    WHEREAS, Howard Jones, Jr. was preceded in death by his
2parents, and his sister, Virginia; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Howard Jones, Jr. is survived by his 5 sons,
4Reverend Michael Keenan, Matthew (Carol), Mark, Patrick
5(Lori), and Peter (Jennifer); his daughter, Nan Weitzman
6(Scott); his grandchildren, Samuel, Carly, Dani, Jake,
7Matthew, Charles, Anna, Howard William, III, Luke, Emma, Molly,
8Murphy, Mac, and Max Weitzman; and countless friends in the
9Chicago area as well as his many friends and neighbors in the
10Ocean Colony community of Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
14Howard Jones, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Howard Jones, Jr. as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
