2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Alfred Bott, who passed away on February |
4 | | 23, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Bott was born on November 15, 1930 in |
6 | | Danville; his parents were Roy and Mildred Bott; he married |
7 | | Ruth McCulloch in 1974; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Bott graduated from Danville High School in |
9 | | 1949; he subsequently served his country during the Korean War; |
10 | | and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Bott worked as a union representative and |
12 | | was a charter member of the Labor Management Board; he also |
13 | | served on the United Way Board, the Vermilion County Board for |
14 | | 14 years, the Civic Center Board for 19 years, the Danville |
15 | | Sanitation Board for 9 years, and the Machinist Union for 23 |
16 | | years; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Bott was a member of the Olive Branch in |
18 | | Danville, where he achieved the rank of 32nd Degree with the |
19 | | Masons; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Bott enjoyed traveling coast to coast with |

1 | | his good friends in the motor home he and his wife owned; he |
2 | | also enjoyed fishing trips with his fishing buddies, camping, |
3 | | and watching Clint Eastwood movies; and |
4 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Bott is preceded in death by his parents, |
5 | | Roy and Mildred; a son, Robby Bott; a brother, Dave Bott; and a |
6 | | sister-in-law, Betty Bott; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Bott is survived by his wife, Ruth Bott; |
8 | | his daughters, Elaine Treadway Pfeifer, Linda (Tim) Walsh, and |
9 | | Lori Treadway Murphy; 9 grandchildren, Brittany (Jeppy |
10 | | Johansen) Bott, Corey Bott, Michael Pfeifer, Cheri Pfeifer, |
11 | | Amanda (Mike) Murphy Allen, Rebecca Murphy, Alexis (Justin) |
12 | | Walsh Wagle, Brooke Walsh and Brad Walsh; 10 |
13 | | great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; |
14 | | therefore, be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
17 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Alfred Bott; and be it |
18 | | further
|
19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Alfred Bott as an expression of our |
21 | | sympathy.
