2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Earl A. Cummings of Clarendon Hills, who |
4 | | passed away on February 2, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Earl Cummings was born in Chicago on May 5, 1938 |
6 | | to Earl and Suzanne (nee Hague) Cummings; he graduated from |
7 | | Chicago public grade schools and high schools; he then attended |
8 | | Valparaiso University on a basketball scholarship, graduating |
9 | | in 1960; from 1962 to 1969, he served in the United States Army |
10 | | and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in the |
11 | | Signal Corps; and |
12 | | WHEREAS, Earl Cummings worked for the Illinois Bell |
13 | | Telephone Company from 1960 to 1968, Continental Bank in |
14 | | Chicago from 1968 to 1973, Quasar Electronics from 1973 to |
15 | | 1977, the World Bank in Washington, D.C. from 1977 to 1988, |
16 | | Comsat International Communications, Inc. from 1988 to 1994, |
17 | | Northern Telecom from 1994 to 1996, Aeroteck E F & I Services |
18 | | from 1996 to 1999, and ADC Telecommunications from 1999 to |
19 | | 2003; and

20 | | WHEREAS, Earl Cummings was preceded in death by his |
21 | | parents; his sister, Janice (Albert); his brother, Kenneth C. |
22 | | Cummings; and his sister, Carol (Jacobsen); and
