2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Betty L. Sowders of Alton, who passed |
4 | | away on January 19, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Betty Sowders was born on April 5, 1936 in East |
6 | | Alton; her parents were Leto and Tillie (nee Schulze) Iberg; |
7 | | she married Rudolph "Rudy" Sowders, Jr. on September 10, 1955 |
8 | | at the First Baptist Church in East Alton; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Betty Sowders graduated from East Alton-Wood |
10 | | River High School in 1954; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Betty Sowders worked part time as a bookkeeper at |
12 | | Lester Gentry's Bookkeeping Service for 27 years; she later |
13 | | worked as the office manager at the Lockhaven Country Club and |
14 | | as the bookkeeper for the family business, Turn 2 Collectibles; |
15 | | and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Betty Sowders was preceded in death by her |
17 | | parents; her husband, Rudolph; 3 sisters, Marcella Iberg, Wilma |
18 | | Bizaillion, and Rose Ann Opper; and 4 brothers, Herbert, |
19 | | Edward, Donald, and Leslie Iberg; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Betty Sowders is survived by her children and |

1 | | their spouses, Rudolph C., III "Rick" and Susan Sowders, John |
2 | | and Ellen Sowders, Lisa and Jeff Dublo, Donna Droste, Jerry and |

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her |
17 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Betty L. Sowders; and |
18 | | be it further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Betty Sowders as an expression of |
21 | | our sympathy.
