SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jesse B. Vazquez of Montgomery, who passed away on January 12, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez graduated from West Aurora High School and attended Waubonsee Community College; he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1984 and was honorably discharged in 1988 as a Corporal; and

WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez was highly respected as the area sales manager at Performance Food Group; he was also employed by the City of Aurora in the Youth Activity Department; he had over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry; and

WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez represented District 8 on the Kane County Board; while on the board, he served on the Committee of the Whole, the Agriculture Committee, the Energy and Environmental Committee, the Jobs Committee, the Legislative Committee, the Public Health Committee, and the Public Service Committee; he worked for Congressman George E. Sangmeister as his Aurora office manager; and

WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez was a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce and a former President of INC Boards, NFP (formerly Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services, Inc.); he also served on the East Aurora Task Force, the Montgomery Planning Commission, and the Fox Valley Freeway Advisory Committee; he co-founded Partners in Health (Companeros en Salud); and

WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez was a member of The Roman Catholic Church of St. Peter in Aurora; he and his wife, Maria, have 3 children, Eric, Michael, and Veronica; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jesse B. Vazquez, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jesse Vazquez as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
