|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Thaddius J. "Ted" Carvis, who passed away |
4 | | on September 9, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Thaddius Carvis was born in West Pullman on April |
6 | | 27, 1911; he moved with his family to Chicago where he attended |
7 | | St. Stephens Church and Grade School and then Lane Technical |
8 | | High School; he married Dorothy Jahnke at St. Anastasia |
9 | | Catholic Parish on November 18, 1933; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Thaddius Carvis was a dedicated employee with |
11 | | Johnson Motors, Inc. for 39 years, retiring in 1975; he also |
12 | | worked for Druce Drug Store in Waukegan and as a watch and |
13 | | clock repairman at O'Dell Jewelry Store in Waukegan; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Thaddius Carvis attended mass daily; he was an |
15 | | avid gardener and lawn masseuse, and was always a great |
16 | | neighbor; he enjoyed his talks with Vic and Rose over the |
17 | | fence; he was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Parish, where |
18 | | he ushered for over 40 years; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Thaddius Carvis was preceded in death by his |
20 | | father, Marcel Karwowski; his mother, Emelia Ciborowski; his |
21 | | brothers, Marcel, Joseph, Leopold (Leo), William, George, and |
|

1 | | Raymond; his sisters, Mary, Estelle, Harriett, Jean, Alice, and |
2 | | Regina; his daughter, Dorothy Lee; and his wife of 73 years, |

4 | | WHEREAS, Thaddius Carvis is survived by his 2 daughters, |
5 | | JoAnn (Clarence) Wicketts and Sandra (Joseph) Chess; his son, |
6 | | Thaddius (Marcia); his 7 grandchildren, Larry Wicketts, Lori |
7 | | Poloway, Tim Chess, Andrea (Mark) Carrier, Suzy (Jimi) Homan, |
8 | | Thaddius "TJ" Carvis, and Cristen Carvis; his 12 |
9 | | great-grandchildren, Sara Wargo, Alex (Sonja) Wicketts, Logan |
10 | | Wicketts, Melissa and Joey Poloway, Mac and Lexi Carrier, |
11 | | James, Joey, Jackson, and Jaden Homan, and Cassandra Chess; and |
12 | | his 5 great-great-grandchildren, Emily and Shelby Wargo, |
13 | | Eleanor and Thaddius Carvis, and Briseis Wicketts; therefore, |
14 | | be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | Thaddius J. "Ted" Carvis, and extend our sincere condolences to |
18 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Thaddius Carvis as an expression of |
22 | | our deepest sympathy.
