AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2949 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2949 as follows:


 
3on page 1, line 5, by replacing "Section 5F-33" with "Sections 
45-30.3 and 5F-33"; and
 
5on page 1, immediately after line 5, by inserting the 
6following:
 
7    "(305 ILCS 5/5-30.3 new)
8    Sec. 5-30.3. Provider inquiry portal. The Department shall 
9establish no later than January 1, 2017 a web-based portal to 
10accept inquiries and requests for assistance from managed care 
11organizations under contract with the State and providers under 
12contract with managed care organizations to provide direct 
13care.  The portal shall be limited to managed care activities 
14and shall be available to, at a minimum, accept reports of 
15violations of State statutes or rules, solicit clarifications,

1and request assistance with claims collection.  The Department 
2shall acknowledge receipt of an inquiry or request for 
3assistance within 36 hours."; and
 
4by deleting line 22 on page 3 through line 15 on page 4.
