Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that on and after January 1, 2017, an insurer that issues health insurance in the State of Illinois must provide each member covered under a policy or plan with a benefits identification card. Provides that the benefits identification card shall include the member's name, account tracking number, copayment and coinsurance amounts, and contact information for the insurer.
Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 370e.1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (215 ILCS 5/370e.1 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 370e.1. Benefits identification card required for |
| 8 | | each member. On and after January 1, 2017, an insurer that |
| 9 | | issues health insurance in the State of Illinois must provide |
| 10 | | each member covered under a policy or plan with a benefits |
| 11 | | identification card. The benefits identification card shall |
| 12 | | include the member's name, account tracking number, copayment |
| 13 | | and coinsurance amounts, and contact information for the |
