3 | | by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the |
4 | | following:

5 | | "Section 5. The Unemployment Insurance Act is amended by |
6 | | changing Section 403 as follows:

8 | | Sec. 403. Maximum total amount of benefits. |
9 | | A. With respect to
any benefit year beginning prior to |
10 | | September 30, 1979, any otherwise eligible
individual shall be |
11 | | entitled, during such benefit year, to a maximum
total amount |
12 | | of benefits as shall be determined in the manner set forth
in |
13 | | this Act as amended and in effect on November 9, 1977.

14 | | B. With respect to any benefit year beginning on or after |
15 | | September 30,
1979, except as otherwise provided in this |
16 | | Section, any otherwise eligible individual shall be entitled, |

year, to a maximum total amount of benefits |
2 | | equal to 26 times his or her weekly
benefit amount plus |
3 | | dependents' allowances, or to the total wages for insured
work |
4 | | paid to such individual during the individual's base period, |
5 | | whichever
amount is smaller. With respect to any benefit year |
6 | | beginning in calendar year 2012, any otherwise eligible |
7 | | individual shall be entitled, during such benefit year, to a |
8 | | maximum total amount of benefits equal to 25 times his or her |
9 | | weekly benefit amount plus dependents' allowances, or to the |
10 | | total wages for insured work paid to such individual during the |
11 | | individual's base period, whichever amount is smaller. If the |
12 | | maximum amount includable as "wages" pursuant to Section 235 is |
13 | | $13,560 with respect to calendar year 2013, then, with respect |
14 | | to any benefit year beginning after March 31, 2013 and before |
15 | | April 1, 2014, any otherwise eligible individual shall be |
16 | | entitled, during such benefit year, to a maximum total amount |
17 | | of benefits equal to 25 times his or her weekly benefit amount |
18 | | plus dependents allowances, or to the total wages for insured |
19 | | work paid to such individual during the individual's base |
20 | | period, whichever amount is smaller. With respect to any |
21 | | benefit year beginning in calendar year 2018, any otherwise |
22 | | eligible individual shall be entitled, during such benefit |
23 | | year, to a maximum total amount of benefits equal to 24 times |
24 | | his or her weekly benefit amount plus dependents' allowances, |
25 | | or to the total wages for insured work paid to such individual |
26 | | during the individual's base period, whichever amount is |

1 | | smaller.

2 | | C. With respect to any benefit year beginning on or after |
3 | | December 1, 2016 and prior to the effective date of this |
4 | | amendatory Act of the 99th General Assembly, any otherwise |
5 | | eligible individual whose total or partial unemployment is |
6 | | attributable to a layoff by his or her employer who is a |
7 | | manufacturer of steel shall be entitled, during such benefit |
8 | | year, to a maximum total amount of benefits equal to 52 times |
9 | | his or her weekly benefit amount plus dependents' allowances, |
10 | | or to the total wages for insured work paid to such individual |
11 | | during the individual's base period, whichever amount is |
12 | | smaller. |
13 | | If, prior to the effective date of this amendatory Act of |
14 | | the 99th General Assembly, such individual has received the |
15 | | maximum total amount of benefits to which he or she was |
16 | | entitled under this Act for the benefit year, the individual |
17 | | shall be entitled to extended benefits equal to the maximum |
18 | | total amount of benefits established under this subsection C |
19 | | minus the benefits received prior to the effective date of this |
20 | | amendatory Act of the 99th General Assembly. |
21 | | The benefit year for any person entitled to benefits under |
22 | | this subsection C shall be extended by an additional 12 months |
23 | | to accommodate the additional benefits provided under this |
24 | | subsection C. |
25 | | The provisions of Section 607 and the waiting period |
26 | | requirements of Section 500D shall not be applicable to any |
