SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
430 ILCS 66/60

    Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Allows the $150 concealed carry license application fee to be waived for a resident whose income level is below 133% of the federal poverty level, a resident 60 years of age or older, and for a resident with a physical impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities as defined under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Firearm Concealed Carry Act is amended by
5changing Section 60 as follows:
 
6    (430 ILCS 66/60)
7    Sec. 60. Fees.
8    (a) All fees collected under this Act shall be deposited as
9provided in this Section. Application, renewal, and
10replacement fees shall be non-refundable.
11    (b) An applicant for a new license or a renewal shall
12submit $150 with the application, of which $120 shall be
13apportioned to the State Police Firearm Services Fund, $20
14shall be apportioned to the Mental Health Reporting Fund, and
15$10 shall be apportioned to the State Crime Laboratory Fund.
16    (c) A non-resident applicant for a new license or renewal
17shall submit $300 with the application, of which $250 shall be
18apportioned to the State Police Firearm Services Fund, $40
19shall be apportioned to the Mental Health Reporting Fund, and
20$10 shall be apportioned to the State Crime Laboratory Fund.
21    (d) A licensee requesting a new license in accordance with
22Section 55 shall submit $75, of which $60 shall be apportioned
23to the State Police Firearm Services Fund, $5 shall be

1apportioned to the Mental Health Reporting Fund, and $10 shall
2be apportioned to the State Crime Laboratory Fund.
3    (e) The $150 application fee shall be waived for (1) a
4resident whose income level is below 133% of the federal
5poverty level (FPL), (2) a resident who is 60 years of age or
6older, and (3) a resident who has a physical impairment that
7substantially limits one or more major life activities as
8defined in Section 12102 of the federal Americans with
9Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 12102).

11    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
12becoming law.
