AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1626




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1626 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Mercury Switch Removal Act is amended  by 
5changing Sections 20  and 55 as follows:
 
6    (415 ILCS 97/20)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2017)

8    Sec. 20. Evaluation. At the end of calendar year 2007, and 
9at the end of each year thereafter through calendar year 2016, 
10the Agency shall meet with manufacturers subject to the 
11collection program requirements of Section 15 of this Act to 
12review the performance of the manufacturers' mercury switch 
13collection program, provided that the manufacturers must 
14request such a meeting.  If the program is not accomplishing the 
15objectives set forth in the implementation plan the Agency may 
16recommend modifications to the program or recommend the

1investigation of additional methods to promote the removal, 
2collection, and proper management of mercury switches from 
3end-of-life vehicles.
