| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 1-1-11 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (65 ILCS 5/1-1-11) |
| 7 | | Sec. 1-1-11. Contractual assessments; renewable energy |
| 8 | | sources. A municipality may enter into voluntary agreements |
| 9 | | with the owners of property within the municipality to provide |
| 10 | | for contractual assessments to finance the installation of |
| 11 | | distributed generation renewable energy sources or energy |
| 12 | | efficiency improvements that that are permanently fixed to real |
| 13 | | property.
