Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. In provisions concerning the written examination for a public adjuster license, reduces the waiting period for retaking the examination for an individual who fails from 90 days to 7 days.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 1530 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (215 ILCS 5/1530)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 1530. Examination. |
| 8 | | (a) An individual applying for a public adjuster license |
| 9 | | under this Article must pass a written examination unless he or |
| 10 | | she is exempt pursuant to Section 1535 of this Article. The |
| 11 | | examination shall test the knowledge of the individual |
| 12 | | concerning the duties and responsibilities of a public adjuster |
| 13 | | and the insurance laws and regulations of this State. |
| 14 | | Examinations required by this Section shall be developed and |
| 15 | | conducted under rules and regulations prescribed by the |
| 16 | | Director. |
| 17 | | (b) The Director may make arrangements, including |
| 18 | | contracting with an outside testing service, for administering |
| 19 | | examinations and collecting the nonrefundable fee. Each |
| 20 | | individual applying for an examination shall remit a |
| 21 | | nonrefundable fee as prescribed by the Director. An individual |
| 22 | | who fails to appear for the examination as scheduled or fails |
| 23 | | to pass the examination shall reapply for an examination and |
