AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 376 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 376 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Cook County Forest Preserve District Act is 
5amended  by changing Section 15 as follows:
 



6    (70 ILCS 810/15)  (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 6418)



7    Sec. 15. 
The board shall have the right and power to 
8appoint and
maintain a sufficient police force, the members of 
9which may have and
exercise police powers over the territory 
10within such forest preserves
for the preservation of the public 
11peace, and the observance and
enforcement of the ordinances and 
12laws, such as are conferred upon and
exercised by the police of 
13organized cities and villages; but such
police force,  when 
14acting within the limits of any city or village, but outside 
15the territory owned, leased, or licensed by the district and 
16property over which the district has easement rights,
shall act

1in aid of the regular police force of such city or village and

2shall then be subject to the direction of its chief of police, 
3city or
village marshals, or other head thereof.
