| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Cook County Forest Preserve District Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 15 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (70 ILCS 810/15) (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 6418)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 15.
The board shall have the right and power to |
| 8 | | appoint and
maintain a sufficient police force, the members of |
| 9 | | which may have and
exercise police powers over the territory |
| 10 | | within such forest preserves
for the preservation of the public |
| 11 | | peace, and the observance and
enforcement of the ordinances and |
| 12 | | laws, such as are conferred upon and
exercised by the police of |
| 13 | | organized cities and villages; but such
police force, when |
| 14 | | acting within the limits of any city or village, but outside |
| 15 | | the territory owned, leased, or licensed by the district and |
| 16 | | property over which the district has easement rights,
shall act |
| 17 | | in aid of the regular police force of such city or village and
|
| 18 | | shall then be subject to the direction of its chief of police, |
| 19 | | city or
village marshals, or other head thereof.
