| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to recognize
Illinois State | ||||||
| 4 | Representative Adam Brown for his years of service and hard | ||||||
| 5 | work on behalf of the
people of the State of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Representative Brown married his wife, Stephanie, | ||||||
| 7 | during his first term in office;
they are the proud parents of | ||||||
| 8 | two children, Elise and Kenton; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Representative Brown received his undergraduate | ||||||
| 10 | degree from the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and | ||||||
| 11 | earned a master's degree in public administration from the
| ||||||
| 12 | University of Illinois at Springfield; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, At age 23, Representative Brown was the youngest | ||||||
| 14 | person ever elected to the
Decatur City Council, serving as | ||||||
| 15 | Councilman from 2009 to 2010, before being elected to the
| ||||||
| 16 | Illinois House of Representatives; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Representative Brown was honored to be selected as | ||||||
| 18 | a 2013 Edgar Fellow and
earned recognition as one of the | ||||||
| 19 | Central Illinois Business Journal's Top 20 under 40; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Representative Brown is pleased to serve as | ||||||

| 1 | Republican Conference Chairperson
and is one of the youngest | ||||||
| 2 | members to ever be named to House Republican Leadership; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, During his three terms as State Representative, | ||||||
| 4 | Representative Brown has focused on job
creation, cutting | ||||||
| 5 | wasteful spending, and increasing accountability and | ||||||
| 6 | transparency in Illinois
State government; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Representative Brown worked in a bipartisan | ||||||
| 8 | manner to sponsor and pass an
incentive package to secure the | ||||||
| 9 | $1.2 billion urea fertilizer production plant that Cronus
| ||||||
| 10 | Chemicals LLC, Inc. is building in Tuscola; construction of the | ||||||
| 11 | facility will create
approximately 2,000 construction jobs and | ||||||
| 12 | attract at least $500 million in investment to east central
| ||||||
| 13 | Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Representative Brown is a fifth-generation family | ||||||
| 15 | farmer and is retiring from the
Illinois House of | ||||||
| 16 | Representatives to lead the operation of B & B Farms; | ||||||
| 17 | therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 19 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 20 | congratulate our friend and
colleague, Representative Adam | ||||||
| 21 | Brown, on his retirement from the Illinois House of
| ||||||
| 22 | Representatives, and we wish him the best in all his future | ||||||

| 1 | endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 3 | presented to Representative Brown as a
symbol of our respect | ||||||
