| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives is | ||||||
| 3 | delighted to congratulate Sangamon County
Board Member Sam | ||||||
| 4 | Montalbano on the occasion of his retirement after 28 years of | ||||||
| 5 | service to the
residents of Sangamon County; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Sam Montalbano's life has been dedicated to | ||||||
| 7 | serving his nation; he served during
the Korean War, earning | ||||||
| 8 | the rank of Sgt. First Class; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Sam Montalbano's service to our nation continued | ||||||
| 10 | long after his time in uniform
ended by dedicating his life to | ||||||
| 11 | honoring the men and women in our Armed Services through his
| ||||||
| 12 | work as an officer of the Italian American War Veterans, as a | ||||||
| 13 | proud member of the Honor
Flight Program, and with his service | ||||||
| 14 | as a Chaplain, working diligently to ensure that his fellow
| ||||||
| 15 | veterans received the proper burials they so rightfully | ||||||
| 16 | deserved; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Sam Montalbano has selflessly served his | ||||||
| 18 | community through his volunteer efforts at
Little Flower | ||||||
| 19 | Church; he served with the Southern View Khoury League baseball | ||||||
| 20 | board and as a volunteer for
the Sacred Heart Griffin Annual | ||||||
| 21 | Mostaccioli Dinner, along with many other civic engagements
| ||||||
| 22 | throughout Sangamon County; and
| ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | WHEREAS, Sam Montalbano served for the past 28 years on the | ||||||
| 2 | Sangamon County Board for
the residents of District 13; he was | ||||||
| 3 | a former Chairman of the Road and Bridge Committee and Chair of | ||||||
| 4 | the Liquor
Committee; he served as Vice-Chair of the County | ||||||
| 5 | Board; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Sam Montalbano's service on the Sangamon County | ||||||
| 7 | Board has had a tremendous
impact on the quality of life that | ||||||
| 8 | the residents of Sangamon County enjoy and he stands as a
proud | ||||||
| 9 | example of how public service can be an honorable path; | ||||||
| 10 | therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 12 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 13 | congratulate Sam Montalbano for 28
years of dedicated service | ||||||
| 14 | to the people of Sangamon County and we wish him many more | ||||||
| 15 | years of
community involvement as he enjoys his retirement from | ||||||
| 16 | the Sangamon County Board; and be it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to Sam Montalbano as a
symbol of our admiration and | ||||||
| 19 | respect for his years of service to the people of Sangamon
| ||||||
| 20 | County and the greater Springfield community.
