| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Christopher |
| 4 | | Wagoner on the occasion of receiving the "2016 Rural Physician |
| 5 | | of Excellence Award" from the Illinois Rural Health |
| 6 | | Association; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across |
| 8 | | our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural |
| 9 | | settings; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher Wagoner graduated from the Rural |
| 11 | | Medical Education (RMED) program at the University of Illinois |
| 12 | | in 2007; since then, he has served as an associate professor of |
| 13 | | family and community medicine at the University of Illinois |
| 14 | | College of Medicine in Peoria; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, In 2010, Dr. Christopher Wagoner joined the Illini |
| 16 | | Rural Health Clinic, where he currently serves as Medical |
| 17 | | Director; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher Wagoner demonstrates his |
| 19 | | compassion for his elderly patients by the house calls he makes |
| 20 | | to many of them, a rarity in 21st century medical practice; and
|
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher Wagoner serves as the Medical |
| 2 | | Director of Illini X-Press, providing his patients access to |
| 3 | | medical care outside normal practice hours; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher Wagoner oversees seven nurse |
| 5 | | practitioners, expanding the radius of service so many rural |
| 6 | | patients who would otherwise need to travel more than an hour |
| 7 | | can receive care closer to home; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, In his free time, Dr. Christopher Wagoner serves |
| 9 | | on the Board of Directors for the Pike County Health |
| 10 | | Department; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Christopher Wagoner's talents are not limited |
| 12 | | to his medical practice, but are also demonstrated by his duck |
| 13 | | hunting skills; therefore, be it
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 15 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 16 | | congratulate Dr. Christopher Wagoner on the occasion of his |
| 17 | | receiving the "2016 Rural Physician of Excellence Award" and |
| 18 | | thank him for his selfless service to his community and the |
| 19 | | impact he has made on improving rural health; and be it further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to Dr. Christopher Wagoner as a symbol of our respect |
