2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the
death of Andrew |
4 | | Bollman, who passed away on July 9, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Bollman graduated from Walnut High School |
6 | | in 1994, where he played basketball,
baseball, and served as |
7 | | class president; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, While still in high school, Andrew Bollman |
9 | | discovered a passion for photography, and worked
with his |
10 | | father to create a small studio and business on the family |
11 | | farm; he photographed his
first wedding at 16; and |
12 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Bollman attended Sauk Valley Community |
13 | | College, where he took photographs for
the student newspaper |
14 | | and served as student trustee from 1995 to 1996; he graduated |
15 | | from
Augustana College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in |
16 | | English while continuing to photograph for their
literary and |
17 | | arts magazine and taking student portraits for the yearbook; |
18 | | and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Bollman traveled home weekly to photograph |
20 | | weddings; he worked summers as a
photojournalist for the Dixon |
21 | | Telegraph, taking images of everything from toddlers
strolling |

1 | | in the park, to F3 tornados; after graduating from college, he |
2 | | opened a photography studio in Sterling,
where he captured |
3 | | memories and special moments for many families; and |
4 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Bollman never turned down an opportunity to |
5 | | travel for his business; he photographed a wedding in India, |
6 | | where he viewed the genuine spirit of the people despite |
7 | | poverty and injustice; he felt compelled to serve his own |
8 | | community in a greater
capacity and attended law school at |
9 | | Northern Illinois University, graduating in 2005; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, After serving as an Assistant State's Attorney for |
11 | | Lee County, Andrew Bollman built his own
legal practice, |
12 | | partnering with Bruce Keller in 2015 to form Keller and |
13 | | Bollman, where he
worked tirelessly to ensure his clients |
14 | | received justice and fair treatment; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Bollman recognized the value and quality of |
16 | | his education at Sauk Valley
Community College (SVCC)and served |
17 | | on the SVCC Board of Trustees for many years, where he served
|
18 | | as board Chair and was later appointed President of the |
19 | | Illinois Community College Trustees
Association, serving a |
20 | | one-year term in 2015-2016 and lobbied and advocated for |
21 | | community
colleges at the State level; and
|
22 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Bollman felt his greatest accomplishment |

1 | | was building his family; he married
his best friend and |
2 | | companion, Rochelle Monteith on June 7, 2006 on the beach in |
3 | | Tulum,
Mexico; he became a proud and protective father to his |
4 | | son, Asher in 2010; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Andrew Bollman loved his family and enjoyed their |
6 | | many vacations together while
capturing many photos to cherish |
7 | | and save the memories; therefore, be it
|
8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
9 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
10 | | mourn the passing of Andrew Bollman, and extend our sincere |
11 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
12 | | him; and be it further

13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
14 | | presented to the family of Andrew Bollman as an expression of |
15 | | our deepest sympathy.
