HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Lisa D. Thurston
on the 
4occasion of her retirement as Executive Director of Southern 
5Five Regional Planning District and
Development Commission; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Lisa Thurston graduated from Century High School 
8in 1989; she earned her Associate in
Science in 1991 from 
9Shawnee Community College and her Bachelor of Science from 
10Southeast Missouri
State University in 1993; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Lisa Thurston spent her early career working for 
12Shawnee Community College and
the Shawnee Development Council; 
13she joined the Southern Five Regional Planning District and 
14Development
Commission in 1993 as the Controller; she became 
15the Executive Director in 1997; she received her
Master of 
16Science in Management in 2010; and
  
 
  
17    WHEREAS, Lisa Thurston and her husband, Jerry P. Thurston, 
18have been married for 25 years and
have three children, Nathan, 
19George "Drew", and Rachel; she is the daughter of Joyce Rider 
20Inman and
the late George Inman; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, A community party will be held in Lisa Thurston's

1honor at Southern Five Regional on June
22, 2016; therefore, be 
2it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5congratulate Lisa D. Thurston
on her retirement as Executive 
6Director of Southern Five Regional Planning District and

7Development Commission and we wish her the best in all her 
8future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Lisa Thurston as an expression of our esteem and 
11respect.
