HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Mary McKittrick on the 
4occasion of her retirement as City Administrator of the City of 
5Geneva on June 10, 2016; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Mary McKittrick's stewardship of Geneva's mission 
7and vision has been instrumental in building a culture of 
8excellence; her contributions were the result of her selfless 
9work ethic and personal
commitment to serving the best 
10interests of the citizens and businesses who call Geneva home; 
11Geneva
is better off because of her tenure as City 
12Administrator, and the city is well positioned to embrace
the 
13opportunities and address any challenges that come its way; and


  
 
14    WHEREAS, As Geneva City Administrator, Mary McKittrick has 
15been influential in creating the city's Strategic Plan Advisory 
16Committee and Student Government Program and establishing the 
17Employee Ethics Committee; the city also received its first 
18budget and audit awards under her leadership; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mary McKittrick serves as legislative chairperson 
20of the Metro West Council of Government, an association of
35 
21municipalities in Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb Counties that 
22addresses regional issues such as unfunded
mandates, growth,

1transportation, water conservation, and economic development; 
2she is a member of
the Managers Committee of the Illinois 
3Municipal League and the Northern Illinois University Public

4Administration Board of Advisors and periodically serves as an 
5instructor at Waubonsee Community
College; she also conducts 
6occasional training sessions in leadership and governance, 
7local government, and
strategic planning; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary McKittrick serves as a model of integrity and 
9dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, 
10be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13congratulate Mary McKittrick on the occasion of her retirement 
14as City Administrator of the City of Geneva and wish her 
15continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
16further
  
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18presented to Mary McKittrick as a symbol of our esteem and 
19respect.
