HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Robert A. Saddler, M.Ed., 
4Ed.D., of Chicago on the occasion of his induction into the 
5Senior Illinois Hall of Fame; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Senior Illinois Hall of Fame was initiated by 
7the General Assembly in 1994 to commemorate the achievements 
8and contributions of
citizens age 65 or older; inductees are 
9selected through a statewide nomination and judging process; 
10the program targets candidates in the
areas of community 
11service, education, the work force, and the 
12graphic/performance arts; 98 people have been inducted into the 
13Hall, including the 2015 inductees; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, For nearly 60 years, Dr. Saddler has gone above 
15and beyond to build a foundation of educational success for 
16Chicago youth; he holds a
doctorate in Education Leadership and 
17supports several educational programs aimed at improving the 
18lives of students
and preparing them for college; he recently 
19began a mentoring program for young men in 7th and 8th grade to 
20provide
moral support and academic guidance; through various 
21volunteer initiatives, he  continues to instill his passion
for 
22education and commitment to helping students achieve success;

1    WHEREAS, Dr. Saddler is the 2015 inductee in the Education 
2category; and
  
 

  
3    WHEREAS, Each year,  winners are inducted into the Senior 
4Illinois Hall of Fame during a special ceremony; therefore, be 
5it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8congratulate Robert A. Saddler, M.Ed., Ed.D., on his induction 
9into the Senior Illinois Hall of Fame; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Dr. Saddler as an expression of our esteem and 
12respect.
