2 | WHEREAS, After 26 years of service, Honey Jacobs Skinner is | ||||||
3 | retiring from her position as a Strategic Advisor and | ||||||
4 | Consultant to the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital | ||||||
5 | of Chicago (Lurie Children's), formerly known as Children's | ||||||
6 | Memorial Hospital; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has served with remarkable | ||||||
8 | effectiveness, great distinction, and honor in the field of | ||||||
9 | healthcare, government relations, and legal services; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has been an indispensable and | ||||||
11 | indefatigable advocate for Lurie Children's and for the health | ||||||
12 | and well-being of children; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has fought tirelessly to | ||||||
14 | protect access to care for all children, including those who | ||||||
15 | lack resources, those insured by Medicaid, those that are | ||||||
16 | immigrants, and children with medical complexity; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has staunchly advocated in | ||||||
18 | support of the teaching, research, clinical, and advocacy | ||||||
19 | pillars of Lurie Children's; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has had a direct and positive |
| |||||||

1 | impact on the health and well-being of Illinois children by | ||||||
2 | virtue of her advocacy efforts on behalf of Lurie Children's to | ||||||
3 | prevent HIV/AIDS, obesity, injury, violence, and access to | ||||||
4 | tobacco, to promote immunizations, access to mental health | ||||||
5 | services, access to early intervention, and appropriate use of | ||||||
6 | antibiotics to prevent antibiotic resistance, and to improve | ||||||
7 | the lives of children affected by food allergies and | ||||||
8 | anaphylaxis; therefore, be it
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
10 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
11 | we, along with Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of | ||||||
12 | Chicago, her family, and her friends, thank and honor Honey | ||||||
13 | Jacobs Skinner for her tireless and successful advocacy on | ||||||
14 | behalf of the public interest and on behalf of Lurie Children's | ||||||
15 | and extend our heartiest congratulations to her on the occasion | ||||||
16 | of her retirement; and be it further

17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
18 | presented to Honey Jacobs Skinner and the Ann and Robert H. | ||||||
19 | Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago as a symbol of our | ||||||
20 | gratitude and greatest hopes on her future endeavors.
