2 | WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives are | ||||||
3 | saddened to learn of the death of
Henry icon, Allan L. | ||||||
4 | Waldschmidt, who passed away on July 31, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Allan Waldschmidt was born in Peoria on October | ||||||
6 | 25, 1946 to Julius H. and Doris (nee Reising)
Waldschmidt; he | ||||||
7 | married Vicki A. Moore on June 27, 1970 in Peoria; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Allan Waldschmidt farmed in the Henry area for | ||||||
9 | over 45 years and retired from Caterpillar as an
electrical | ||||||
10 | journeyman after over 30 years of service; and | ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Over his lifetime, Allan Waldschmidt dedicated | ||||||
12 | himself to his community, serving as a volunteer
fireman for 51 | ||||||
13 | years with the Henry Fire Protection District, beginning at age | ||||||
14 | of 17; he was a
Trustee for the Henry Fire Protection district | ||||||
15 | for 15 years; he also served as a precinct
committeeman with | ||||||
16 | the Republican Party and volunteered at the Family Resources | ||||||
17 | Center, the
Spring Festival of Life Auction, and The Catholic | ||||||
18 | Diocese of Peoria Men's Walk; and | ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Allan Waldschmidt was only the third member in the | ||||||
20 | history of the Henry Fire Protection District
to serve for 50 | ||||||
21 | years or more; he acted as an exemplary figure to the younger |

| |||||||
1 | generations of
firefighters in the Henry Fire Protection | ||||||
2 | District; and | ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Allan Waldschmidt's service to the Henry Fire | ||||||
4 | Protection District as a Trustee had a tremendous
long-term | ||||||
5 | impact in building the department to its current level; he went | ||||||
6 | above and beyond by
donating materials and volunteer labor to | ||||||
7 | literally build the department from the floor up; and | ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Allan Waldschmidt, along with his wife Vicki, were | ||||||
9 | longtime members of the diocesan Respect
Life Board and | ||||||
10 | volunteered countless hours during the planning and | ||||||
11 | construction of the Family
Resource Center in Peoria; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Allan Waldschmidt was cherished in the Henry and | ||||||
13 | Peoria communities for his dedication to
public service, his | ||||||
14 | business and electrical expertise, his relentless generosity, | ||||||
15 | and his steadfast
commitment to improving the lives of his | ||||||
16 | fellow Illinoisans; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Allan Waldschmidt was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | brother-in-law, Howard Shipman; his parents;
and one unborn | ||||||
19 | child Mary/Joseph Waldschmidt; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Allan Waldschmidt is survived by his wife, Vicki; | ||||||
21 | his sons, Michael (Nicci) and Thomas (Toni); his
daughter, |

2 | (Pat) Waldschmidt, Ernest

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
7 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
8 | mourn the passing of Allan
L. Waldschmidt and extend our | ||||||
9 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
10 | and
loved him; and be it further

11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Allan L. Waldschmidt as an | ||||||
13 | expression of our deepest sympathy.
