2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul |
4 | | Arthur Walker of Ewing, who passed away on June 22, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Walker was born in Ewing on August 28, 1929 |
6 | | to Mason and Wilma (Toombs) Walker; he married Ella Dillow on |
7 | | September 18, 1948; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Paul Walker served his country for 21 years in the |
9 | | United States Navy as a chief in aviation mechanics; he fought |
10 | | in the Korean War and made numerous cruises on board the USS |
11 | | Hancock, the USS Kitty Hawk, and the USS Bennington; he also |
12 | | taught mechanics to air crewmen at Coronado Island, California; |
13 | | and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, After retiring, Paul Walker worked for PSA |
15 | | Airlines as a mechanic and at Hughes Tool Factory, both in |
16 | | California; he and his wife moved back to Ewing in 1976 and |
17 | | opened a welding shop; and |
18 | | WHEREAS, Paul Walker served as the mayor of Ewing for 14 |
19 | | years and as a deacon at Ewing Baptist Church; and

20 | | WHEREAS, Paul Walker was preceded in death by his parents; |
