HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Gwendolyn Westlund's First 
4Annual Recycled Life Community Blood Drive and Organ Donor 
5Education Event in Westmont; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The event, held on March 28, 2015 at Westmont High 
7School, raised awareness about  the many lives that can be saved 
8with blood and organ donations; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The event was co-sponsored by the Westmont High 
10School Students Against Destructive Decisions and Westmont 
11First Committee, with participation from the Westmont Lions and 
12Rotary Clubs, the Society of State Life Goes on Program, the 
13Westmont Police Department, the Westmont Chamber of Commerce, 
14and officials from the Village of Westmont; and
  
 

  
15    WHEREAS, The event provided education on blood, bone 
16marrow, and organ donations and provided resources for those 
17who wished to follow up on such donations or join the organ 
18donor registry; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
21recognize Gwendolyn Westlund's First Annual Recycled Life

1Community Blood Drive and Organ Donor Education Event and the 
2commitment of the organizers to spread the word on the 
3increased need for blood and organ donations; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Gwendolyn Westlund, the Westmont High School 
6Students Against Destructive Decisions, and the Westmont Lions 
7and Rotary Clubs as an expression of our esteem and respect.
