HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Dr. George Mihel on the 
4occasion of his retirement as President and CEO of Sauk Valley 
5Community College; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Dr. George Mihel was born in Oak Park in 1947; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Dr. George Mihel graduated from Lyons Township 
8High School in 1965 and attended Lyons Junior College; he 
9subsequently earned a bachelor's degree from the University of 
10Illinois in 1970, a master's degree from Northern Illinois 
11University in 1972 in Instructional Technology, and a Doctorate 
12from Northern Illinois in 1988; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Dr. George Mihel taught high school level math and 
14science from 1970 to 1978 and math and science at the college 
15level in Oregon from 1978 to 1982; from 1982 to 2013, he served 
16as a College Administrator in Michigan, Nebraska, Kansas, and 
17Illinois; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, In 2005, Dr. George Mihel became President of at 
19Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Dr. George Mihel serves as a model of hard work,

1integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
2Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5congratulate Dr. George Mihel on the occasion of his retirement 
6and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and 
7be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Dr. George Mihel as a symbol of our esteem and 
10respect.
