| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the | ||||||
| 4 | Washington Community High School Wrestling Team on the occasion | ||||||
| 5 | of their unbelievably successful 2014-2015 season; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The team brought home the first State wrestling | ||||||
| 7 | trophy in their school's history with their second place finish | ||||||
| 8 | at the IHSA Class 2A State meet; the team had several Class 2A | ||||||
| 9 | Washington State Qualifiers, Placers, and Champions; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Trey Keeley, a junior, was a State Runner-Up at | ||||||
| 11 | 106 pounds; Dack Punke, a sophomore, was a State Runner-Up at | ||||||
| 12 | 113 pounds; Elijah Oliver, a senior, won his fourth State title | ||||||
| 13 | at 120 pounds; Ethan Reel, a junior, had a third place finish | ||||||
| 14 | at 126 pounds; Blaize Punke, a freshman, was a State Qualifier | ||||||
| 15 | at 132 pounds; Ryder Punke, a junior, was a State Qualifier at | ||||||
| 16 | 138 pounds; Randy Meneweather, a junior, was a State Champion | ||||||
| 17 | at 160 pounds; Jacob Warner, a sophomore, was a State Champion | ||||||
| 18 | at 170 pounds; Jacob Godinez, a senior, was a State Runner-Up | ||||||
| 19 | at 220 pounds; and Brad Howe, a senior, was a State Qualifier | ||||||
| 20 | at 285 pounds; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, The Dual Team completed their season with a record | ||||||
| 22 | of 21-6 and qualified for the Dual Team Tournament by winning | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | the Class 2A Metamora Regional; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The Dual Team had an impressive list of | ||||||
| 3 | accomplishments during their Dual Team IHSA State Series; they | ||||||
| 4 | defeated Lincoln Way West in the Dual Team Sectional 45-24 and | ||||||
| 5 | defeated Geneseo in the State Quarterfinals 36-30; they | ||||||
| 6 | subsequently defeated Oak Forest in the State Semifinals 33-28; | ||||||
| 7 | the team also won the Sycamore Invitational and placed second | ||||||
| 8 | at the Granite City Holiday Invitational; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The members of the Dual Team State Roster include | ||||||
| 10 | Justin Fernald, Jacob Godinez, Kyle Goin, Will Hammer, Brad | ||||||
| 11 | Howe, Trey Keeley, Randy Meneweather, Caleb Miller, Zac Miller, | ||||||
| 12 | Elijah Oliver, Manny Plata, Blaize Punke, Dack Punke, Ryder | ||||||
| 13 | Punke, Ethan Reel, Adam Robison, Ethan Sperry, and Jacob | ||||||
| 14 | Warner; Bryan Medlin is the team's Head Coach and the team's | ||||||
| 15 | assistant coaches include Nick Miller, Jason Medlin, Randy | ||||||
| 16 | Meneweather, Derek Mcintosh, Mike Carr, and Colton Gladwell; | ||||||

| 18 | WHEREAS, The members of the Washington Community High | ||||||
| 19 | School Wrestling Team serve as models of hard work, integrity, | ||||||
| 20 | and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; | ||||||

| 1 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||

| 4 | finish at the State Tournament and wish them continued success | ||||||
