HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Truven Health Analytics has released its Top 100 Hospitals award annually since 1993; and

WHEREAS, The Truven Health 100 Top Hospital program utilizes independent and objective research to guide hospital and health system performance; and

WHEREAS, Hospitals do not apply or pay for this prestigious recognition, nor do they pay to promote their award; and

WHEREAS, Award-winning hospitals and health systems have shown that better care is possible and will serve as an example for hospitals to follow nationwide; and

WHEREAS, The 100 Top Hospitals award winners demonstrate top performance on both how patients are cared for through clinical measures and how the hospital performs as an efficient business; and

WHEREAS, HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital, located in Breese, is an award-winning, acutecare hospital, providing complete inpatient, obstetric, surgical, and outpatient facilities; and

WHEREAS, St. Joseph's Hospital provides state-of-the-art equipment and facilities and medically-based fitness training and rehabilitation therapies, enabling individuals to live healthier lifestyles and actively participate in improving their health; and

WHEREAS, Rep. Charlie Meier's nephew, Dr. Josh Knolhoff, serves as a general surgeon at St. Joseph's Hospital; and

WHEREAS, As part of Hospital Sisters Health System, St. Joseph's Hospital offers a "continuum of care" to the patients and families they serve; by leveraging the strengths of their 14-hospital system, patients in St. Joseph's rural hospital are able to receive care that was once available only in large, urban medical centers; and

WHEREAS, Truven Health Analytics honors hospitals with the "Everest Award" for achieving both the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement over 5 years; and

WHEREAS, Truven Health Analytics recently awarded HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital the 2015 Everest Award; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital for its achievements and exemplary work resulting in obtaining the Truven Health Analytics 100 Top Hospitals "2015 Everest Award"; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital and the HSHS Medical Group as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
