Proposes to amend the Bill of Rights Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that people have a right to hunt and fish as it is a valued part of our heritage and shall be forever preserved for the public good.

4 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
5 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the |
6 | | electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general |
7 | | election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption of |
8 | | this resolution a proposition to amend Article I by adding |
9 | | Section 22.1 as follows:

13 | | SECTION 22.1. RIGHT TO HUNT AND FISH |
14 | | The people have a right to hunt and fish as it is a valued |
15 | | part of our heritage and shall be forever preserved for the |
16 | | public good, subject only to the laws prescribed by the General |
17 | | Assembly and rules prescribed by the virtue of the authority of |
18 | | the General Assembly. Hunting and fishing shall be the |
19 | | preferred means of managing and controlling wildlife. This |
20 | | Section shall not be construed to limit the application of any |
21 | | provision of law relating to trespass or property rights.
