Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Estate and Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax Act. Removes a requirement that Illinois transfer tax returns must be filed with the State Treasurer. Effective immediately.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 2
Deletes reference to:
35 ILCS 405/6from Ch. 120, par. 405A-6
Adds reference to:
35 ILCS 720/1from Ch. 120, par. 1901

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Local Tax Collection Act. Provides that the Department of Revenue may enter into tax collection agreements with any unit of local government (under current law, only counties and municipalities). Contains provisions concerning ordinances or resolutions imposing or discontinuing a tax collected by the Department pursuant to an intergovernmental agreement. Effective immediately.
